The new UN Data platform, developed in partnership with Google’s Data Commons, is a response to the UN Secretary-General's Data Strategy aimed at modernizing how data from the UN system is unified for better usability and global action.
A first-of-its-kind initiative, the platform gathers authoritative data now available at individual databases across the UN system into a public repository with advanced search functionality and an innovative, user-friendly interface. Considering that most problem-solving starts with a single question, this tool will optimize data access for policy action and data-driven decision-making, by allowing users to ask questions and simultaneously use data from multiple sources.
With the integration of artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language queries and other innovative features, UN Data operates so that users do not have to rely on expert-level technical proficiencies to fully delve into it.
